Assistant Controller

InTransit, LLC., a division of Transport Investments, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller.
The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate monthly closings and issue timely and accurate Financial reports.
Ensure State and Federal Tax compliance & payroll processing.
Accounting department process review and improvement.
The position at this time does not have any direct reports, but advancement is encouraged.
Requirements:
The job requires an ability to deal in a systematic and patient way with factual and technical information and processes, as well as an ability to focus directly on the knowledge base required for the task.
This job requires a serious and disciplined approach and frequent independent work.
A Degree in Accounting/Finance or CPA.
Experience in the transportation industry is a plus.
