Our University, a dynamic institution with three colleges and one school -- College for Women and the co-educational College for Graduate Studies, College for Continuing and Professional Studies, and the School for Sustainability and the Environment -- invites applications for the position of Director of the Athletics Department. Part of the NCAA Division III, our University is a member of the Presidents' Athletics Conference and offers students the opportunity to be on teams in women's cross country, soccer, tennis, volleyball, basketball, swimming and diving, ice hockey, softball and water polo.
Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students, the selected candidate will oversee the intercollegiate athletics program, from student athlete recruitment and retention to hiring and supervising coaching and support staff members. A primary focus will be on the development and planning of programs that concentrate on student athletes' performance and personal and leadership development. Duties include ensuring compliance with NCAA and PAC rules and regulations; coordinating athletic events; overseeing budgets and resources; and actively promoting community outreach programs.

Requirements
Qualified applicants will have a master's degree in higher education administration, counseling, business, law or a relevant discipline; minimum 3 years' managerial and successful athletic administrative experience; and a proven track record of promoting and marketing intercollegiate athletics programs. Competency in establishing measurable goals and implementing strategies to achieve them is critically important, as are effective communication and writing skills and a thorough understanding of athletics education/practice changes and trends. A background that includes coaching at the college level is highly desirable.
