We are looking for anEngineeringTechnical Writer and Trainerfor our Pittsburgh (PA) facility.
You willresearch and author technical manuals and corresponding training materials to support Bombardier products. You will also conduct technical training associated with the technical manuals.
In your role as anEngineeringTechnical Writer and Trainer, you will:
* Research/compile information to author vehicle automatic train control, test equipment and high voltage power supply and distribution manuals; * Act as a liaison and facilitator during Factory and Field site training programs for international customers. These activities could occur after normal working hours, on weekends and holidays; * Design, plan, develop and instruct vehicle automatic train control, high voltage power supply and distribution equipment and test unit maintenance training courses according to customer specifications; * Work well independently with minimal supervision; * Maintain liaison with technical groups to keep current knowledge of equipment operation and the configuration of delivered hardware; * Use manual and training program development tools including desktop publishing software (MS Word and, Power Point, etc.); * Support other departmental requirements. As our ideal candidate, you possess:
* A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Technical degree will be considered); * 5 years of experience in engineering; * Experience as a technical writer (asset); * Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics; * Proficiency with English language (written and spoken).
Additional information: The incumbent of this position must be available for occasional traveling on a 20% basis.
