ORACLE PL/SQL Developers for 6+ month consulting engagement in Pittsburgh, PA.
We are seeking 2 Oracle PL/SQL Developers to work as part of a Data Team, focused on developing automated conversion programs for the ongoing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation of Oracle eBS.
As part of the development process, business rules will be validated and analyzed for technical feasibility, available technical solutions will be analyzed to decide the best suited technical approach which will be programmed to convert source data into Oracle eBS in an automated fashion.
The developers will be working with process teams and data analysts to finalize the technical requirements, decide on extract file format and the best technical approach to create automated conversion programs.
The developers are responsible for automating the conversion programs in an optimal way and to handle the technical issues/challenges before data is loaded to the target system.
RESPONSBILITIES:
Review the functional design documents (FDD) and discuss open clarifications with process team / FDD author. Draft technical design documents (TDD) to detail the technical approach and pseudo-code logic used to implement/automate conversions. Prepare scripts to create required custom data model (SQL) and create database packages (PL/SQL) to automate the conversion programs which includes custom validations to match the business rules and to use Oracle seeded interface tables or public APIs to load information into Oracle eBS base tables. Create FNDLOAD scripts for concurrent programs and supporting entities (Concurrent Program Executables, Concurrent Program Definition, SQL Loader Control Files etc.) in Oracle Applications to map to the database packages/procedures developed for the conversion. Prepare Unit Test Plan (UTP) and execute unit/assembly testing for the automated conversion programs developed. Execute the automated conversion programs in multiple iterations (mock cycles) and generate load report in a specific format which is used across the data team. Liaise with data analysts, process team and test team to re-process failed records during each mock cycle until the exit criteria is met for the particular mock cycle and the critical errors are corrected. Make appropriate code changes to implement any defect fixes and change requests logged.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Extensive work experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Work experience in Oracle database 9i, 10g or 11g Familiarity with Oracle eBusiness Suite (11i or 12i) basic navigations, configurations and the application architecture
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
Prior work experience in automating conversion programs in Oracle Applications is preferable
Technical work experience in Oracle Applications modules like AP, AR, GL, Inventory etc. is a plus
