Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Provide daily operations support and maintenance for servers, storage, and networks. • Proactively monitor servers, storage, and networks to provide secure, stable and dependable services for multiple platforms. • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot server, storage, end user workstation, software, networked peripheral devices, cabling, networking hardware and software products. • Maintain security solutions, including firewall, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems. • Perform server, storage and network security audits. • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex server, storage and network problems and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions, including off-site repair. • Coordinate and perform server, storage and network improvements, upgrades, and repairs. • Provide training and support to staff. • Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation, procedures manuals, and help sheets for server, storage and network installations, including data, voice, and video systems. • Aid in development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and maintain current knowledge of plan executables. Respond to emergency network outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans. • Support development and coordinate implementation of technology projects and new installations. • Write technical specifications for purchase of server, storage and networking hardware and software products
Requirements:
• VMWare ESX 3.5 or newer, preferably ESXi 4.x and/or ESXi 5.x. Experience with Standard or Enterprise versions a must. Experience with Free versions of VMware a plus. • Windows Server 2003/2008/Windows XP/7 • Active Directory. • Exchange 2010. • Linux experience a plus • Solid knowledge network security principals and practices to include TCPIP, DNS, and DHCP • Strong hands-on knowledge in the configuration, securing, and troubleshooting of Cisco network devices, LAN switching technologies, firewalls, VPNs, routing protocols, Linux based network services, and monitoring/maintaining all of these to ensure their continued secure operation is required.
