Senior IT Business Analyst
A client of Kforce is seeking a senior level Business Analyst for a direct hire opportunity in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Duties Include: * With high degree of independence and only general direction from manager, solves business problems by performing business analysis, preparing specifications and/or designs, and providing project leadership for relevant business process modifications and/or application enhancements * Analyze specific logical data models and/or other types of designs for relatively smaller systems or components of a larger system * Provide customer support for applications and assist with ad hoc requests for information not readily available to end users * Prepare functional design documents and external specifications * May facilitate the business / functional aspects of design, development, testing, implementation, and/or problem resolution * May assist in establishing and administrating functional standards and conventions for applications * Initiate communication with other lead business staff when required to facilitate the most effective and efficient solution to a problem * Serve as business expert and functional mentor to group members
The following skills, knowledge and experience are required for this position unless noted otherwise: * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science or equivalent experience * Five to seven years of practical experience in the analysis and design of business systems including experience on at least one significant team-oriented systems project * Experience applying state-of-the-art methodologies such as entities-relationship diagramming or object-oriented analysis and design * Experience with exploiting database technologies especially in the use of SQL * Customer relationship experience with users who are non-technical and business focused * Experience with modeling techniques (data modeling and process modeling) and tools * Experience with Excel VBA is preferred * Project management experience is preferred
