A dynamic and progressive leader, ARINC provides critical engineering solutions in the aerospace, defense, airports, aviation, government, networks, security, and transportation industries.
ARINC is seeking a Technical Writer/Training Specialist to join our Surface Transportation Security Systems Division located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The successful candidate will develop, update, and review technical system documentation. Projects include end user manuals, system administration manuals, software programmer reference manuals, and internal and end user documentation.
Additional duties include:
. Manage document storage and revision
. Conduct system test and system training with/for the customer
. Develop training syllabus and training materials; work with engineering staff to develop course content
. Coach ARINC engineers to execute required training classes
. Develop a working knowledge of ARINC product and services in the Surface Transportation and Security markets.
Local Candidates Preferred Qualifications Required Experience:
. Requires less than Two (2) years experience as a technical writer and trainer on large, complex, integrated systems and Three (3) or more years of business writing experience.
. Experience preparing training material
. Hands on knowledge in conducting courses and creating computer based training.
. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Technical Communication Suite including FrameMaker, RoboHelp, and Captivate
. Familiarity with Project Web Applications
** Selected candidate must be capable of passing nuclear security screening requirements and be able to obtain unescorted clearance to a nuclear power plant.
Education and Certification Requirements:
. Typically requires BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
. Certifications for computer based training software tools a plus. Amount of Travel Required for Position 0%-25%
